Wonderful show great cast. Ageless with iconic roles. Powerful music Leads all capture their roles well. “Mama Rose “gives her huge singing role with dedication The three “ Strippers” in their unique roles bring a special blend of contrast to stage with Louise relating to each. They are three triple talents amazingly captivating and the audience thrilled by the three performers. Strippers With a gimmick. On point. On Trumpet . On switch , but electrifying Electra had another gimmick. Her comedic charm and timing lit her up as well. Family audience. Helpful theater staff. Wonderful musical and all ages. Talent from anywhere and casting based on best not geography is how it should be. And Marriott Theater proved that is the best goal of all theaters. Local or out of town actors should be considered. Local residents who are actors audition for every theater to perform wherever if want a real acting career. There really are no local actors . They are all local to the stage On which they perform. So glad Marriott seeks actors union non union and from everywhere, to get the best. Bravo Marriott Theater

We were blown away by the talent of the actors and the costume design. The two sisters (Louise and June) as well as the three strippers in act two brought so much life to this show. If you love Gypsy, this production is a hit.

Confusing

A favorite score of ours, we were very excited to see Gypsy, especially with so much build up about the several New York cast members. While it’s nice to finally see some new faces at The Marriott, this production ultimately falls flat and moves slowly. Maybe it will be better later in the run? For us, not much excitement and confusion about a lot of choices, including why every single leading role was brought in from out of town. With the abundant new and old Chicago talent we’re seeing at other area theaters, it’s unsupportive of the local artists and, sadly, did not result in a better product here.

Except for "little Rose" and then the stripper routine (supporting cast) the show was not much fun. Far too long. My heart tried to be in it but wasn't. DP Season ticket subscription member.
